“Dear Mary,

May I thank you once more for the superb work that you have done on my paintings.

Having now had time to examine them thoroughly there is so much detail I merely have never seen or noticed before. They have given them a new lease of life.

I hardly remember my great aunt but my vague recollections of her, plus all that has been told to me about her, makes me know she would have been thrilled that her work survived and has been so lovingly and beautifully restored. I cannot wait for the various serving members of my family who have known these paintings as long as I have to visit next year and see them in this new light.

I look forward to enjoying the ‘A Link With Past Ages’ canvas after you have applied your magic to it.

With all good wishes"

“I just wanted to say how much we appreciate the restoration work you did for us on pieces for the exhibition ‘Art for Colchester’ that displayed work from The Victor Batte-Lay Trust Collection. Your approach was extremely professional and the restoration invisible!”

“I am delighted with the paintings I collected today. I had been afraid they would be so stripped back I would not recognise them! so I am thrilled with the result!”

“A few weeks ago now you kindly returned our painting to Fronks Rd in Dovercourt while we were on holiday. I’m just writing to say that we were really pleased with the result; it is now vibrant and bright again, you have really brought the colours back to life. Thank you very much for your efforts.”

“Just to say we are amazed at the difference in our painting and keep having to go and look at it, you have done a wonderful job and are very talented. I have put the before and after photos of the painting on facebook for my relatives to see and they think it looks wonderful. I can’t wait till my Aunt in Canada gets the photos she will be so pleased.”

“Thank you for delivering the pictures to St Giles Masonic Centre yesterday. They were inspected last evening by the Board of Directors and I was asked to write to you to praise you for the splendid work you have done in restoring them to their former glory. We are all appreciative of your efforts and send our sincere thanks to you.”
